Will AI Take Over Ad Creation?
So here’s something fun I’ve been working on this week.
I’m usually the one scaling apps (you probably know that by now).
But this time, it’s not a client.
It’s for my dad!
It’s an idea that’s super meaningful to him and he wants to put into the world.
And running an app agency, I thought - how do I help him bring that vision to life?
But this newsletter isn’t about his app.
It’s about using AI to make videos.
I’m sure you guys have seen the release of Google Veo 3.
So I’ve been testing it out to create a trailer for his app.
And I gotta say, it’s pretty good (I accessed it via Flow if anyone is wondering).
Veo3 can generate scenes, create visuals, and give you a fully edited video in minutes.
But here’s the thing: It’s not fully there yet.

The subtitles aren’t accurate and the video is only 8 seconds long
It’s missing the human nuance that actually makes a video compelling.
And that’s the big limitation right now.
These tools can create content—but they can’t yet create context.
They can’t learn what makes a story resonate.
They can’t test, iterate, and learn from results like people can do.
And you can also kind of tell they’re AI (I’m sure this part will get better though).
The Real AI + Ads Use Case
That’s why I believe AI is a tool for speed, not strategy.
Here’s where AI can help:
Generating video hooks and scripts in seconds.
Pulling insights from hundreds of ads around what worked, what didn’t.
Brainstorming angles to test: emotional vs. rational, testimonial vs. product demo.
But here’s where humans win (every time):
Deciding what to test based on intuition and data.
Understanding why an ad worked - not just that it did (because ultimately, it’s the human that we’re targeting to, not AI!).
Building stories that make people feel something.
That’s why at Trendify, we want to use AI to accelerate.
But never do we want to replace the creative process.
AI is the assistant.
The human, the storyteller, the creative (whatever you want to call it) is still the one holding the pen.
So I’ll keep playing with Veo 3.
And hopefully, I’ll help my dad bring his project to life.
But more than that, we’ll keep building the systems at Trendify that help our clients win.
Because sometimes, you just have to try things… and see where they take you.

gonna keep playing around and see what I find
